My Christmas Peculiarity

Hello everyone!!

It has been a while since I posted, and I feel good posting today. I know it’s not an excuse but, I’ve been dealing with a few personal issues and my workload increased in the last three months. I’m back in my “zone”, therefore I’m inspired and have time.

These years have passed so fast for me and hopefully for everyone else, when we are occupied time really flies. Unfortunately, we are globally in those times where COVID and other respiratory issues are spreading, manifesting as much as possible. Today as I write I have some relatives, friends, and co-workers with COVID, gladly with minor symptoms or no symptoms at all.

Today is December 23rd, so we are in that time of the year where we all go a bit crazy with shopping, indulging ourselves with food, drinks, and family/ friends’ moments. This year for some of us will be a bit different, but I hope somehow, we all have and keep our Christmas Spirit alive, being present and sharing love (even if virtually).

This post was supposed to be just a Throwback Thursday (#TBT) WhatsApp/ Instagram status because I wanted to share with you guys the only Christmas tree I have ever set up in my house for more than five years, which was a recycled one. I was wondering for couple of days how was this possible? The status evolved for a blog post because I wanted to share my in depth my peculiarity.

Well, Some of you may know that I used to be called “Grinch” after the movie with the same name, but not because I hate Christmas or people – maybe I dislike some people, but I don’t hate -, but because Grinch is grumpy and blunt, and in the past I was both (not proud but aware). To be honest I love Christmas and all collectivity associated with, the decoration and off course the food.

So, I guess have 3 main reason for not setting up a Christmas tree in my house, being:

  1. I’m slow rearranging things around the house (decoration) and by the time I wanted to take off the tree would be already June, where mostly likely I would decide to leave it for the next Christmas. I know it sounds crazy, but decoration, moving things around the house is not my thing, once I’m comfortable with something, I’m done for a really long time.
  2. I’m sure that not spending Christmas time at my house doesn’t help too. For the last 7/8 years I spent Christmas at my mother, father house or friends house, and my practical side surely also thinks it doesn’t make sense to have a tree if no one will be there and no present will be opened there (I live by myself).
  3. And finally, I dislike shopping if I have too many options to choose from, which is the case for Christmas. I’m sure of one my rich’s eccentricity will be to hire a personal assistant, with my body type and size, and she can go shop clothes for me, including trying on. No joke, I have clothes I bought that didn’t really fit because I was too lazy to try it on.

Let’s see if the next Christmas something changes.

And what about you? Do you have any peculiarities of your Christmas? If yes, please do share, I will be happy to read it.

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄and happy new year 🎊. I’ll be more present here next year. There you go, you already know one of my 2022 resolutions :).

Be brave. Be you. Be happy.
